Unfortunately the crays were a little too cunning and the pot came up empty. All was not lost though as an abalone was acquired and fried in garlic and butter. I have never had fresh abalone before and like most things, fresh is best. It was delicious and I look forward to obtaining more. Also, unusally for the west coast the weather for quite nice, so all in all a productive and educational exercise.
Hi Damo,
ReplyDeleteFresh abalone! Yum! Out of interest, did you have to cut the abalone off the rock shelf with a knife? That's cold work even during a heatwave. Stunning photo, you live in an awesome and wild part of the world - such places get under your skin.
PS: Go the Jimny. Total 100% respect.
Cheers. Chris
