Tasty bread making has been a somewhat elusive goal for me with several attempts at both yeast culture and sourdough starters. They turn out somewhat edible, but never great. Inspired by a recent
post, including a short youtube video showing just how easy it is, I had another go:

Kneaded and ready to rise |

|
|
|
After a few hours it is time for the oven |
|
50 min in the oven at 150 |
All in all, it turned out pretty good. The food critic, who was most certainly not a fan of my last creations called it 'alright, borderline good!'. High praise indeed. On reflection, I'm not really sure what was done differently, but some questions do not have answers.
Hi Damo,
ReplyDeleteTop work mate. The bread looks great. As a suggestion try the same mix in your oven at 190'C for the same amount of time and also if you want to brown the crust try a bit of olive oil on the mix just prior to going into the oven. Man, I'm getting hungry looking at the photos. Excellent work.
Cheers
Chris
